Privacy Policy
Unpact ("we", "us") is a task capture and planning service. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we collect what's needed to run the service, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.
Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password when you create an account.
- Content you create — voice recordings, their transcripts, text memos, tasks, lists, subtasks, habits, reminders, plans, and answers you provide when asking Unpact to research a task.
- Calendar commitments — if you turn this on, Unpact reads the calendars already set up on your device and keeps, for each event, only its start time, end time, title, and whether it is an all-day event. We do not collect attendees, locations, notes, organisers, invitation status, or any other part of an event. Unpact never creates, changes, or deletes anything in your calendar; on Android the app does not even request permission to write.
- Usage information — counts of your monthly captures, research runs, and plans (used to enforce the free plan's limits) and basic subscription status.
Microphone access is used only while you are actively recording a memo. Notification and alarm permissions are used only for alerts you enable on a supported device. Calendar access is used only to work out when you are already busy, and only while the feature is switched on.
How we use your information
- To provide the core service: transcribing voice memos, using AI to structure tasks and plans, and researching public sources when you ask for detailed help.
- To plan around commitments you already have, so a plan does not plan work on top of a meeting, and to show you which commitment a gap in your plan is for.
- To operate your account, enforce plan limits, and process subscriptions.
- To respond when you contact support.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content for advertising.
Service providers
To provide the service, limited data is processed by providers acting on our behalf:
- AI and transcription providers — recordings, transcripts, memos, task details, and answers may be sent to the model or transcription provider configured for that feature so it can return the requested result. This includes the times and titles of your calendar commitments when you ask Unpact to plan a day, because a plan has to be built around them and the name is what lets it reason sensibly about each one. No other part of a calendar event is sent.
- Public websites — when Unpact researches a task, it may retrieve publicly available pages to identify supporting sources. It does not submit your account credentials to those sites.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status. Payment details are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card number.
Data retention and deletion
When you open capture history, completed or inactive memos older than 14 days are removed, including their recordings and memo transcripts. Memos still being processed are left for a later cleanup. This is not a scheduled deletion at exactly 14 days.
Task-processing records, including a copy of the input text, remain with your account. Tasks, habits, and plans are also kept until you delete them or your account. The memo cleanup window does not govern retention by AI or transcription providers.
Calendar commitments are kept only for a rolling window of roughly the past week and the next two months, and anything outside that is removed each time your device syncs. You can stop this at any time from Profile → Calendar → Stop reading my calendar, which deletes the commitments Unpact holds; your own calendar is untouched. Turning off calendar permission in your device settings has the same effect on new data.
Your other data is retained while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account inside the app, which permanently removes your account, memos, recordings, transcripts, tasks, habits, plans, lists, and stored calendar commitments. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable safeguards.
Children
Unpact is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and revise the date above.
